Green peels are noticeably moist after peeling in early autumn. Free surface moisture must be removed quickly within 24 hours, whether visible or not, to avoid fungal growth. There are two ways to pre-dry, one is that if the quantity is not large, it can be spread out in thin layers or, more ideally, is controlled air drying. This method requires a temporary storage vessel to dry the moisture content to about 12%-14% moisture for 2-stage flotation. It must be remembered that the kernels of wet shells are susceptible to damage, so be careful when handling them.
