The Specialist Committee of Yunnan Nuts Society is composed of experts and scholars from universities and scientific research institutes at home and abroad who are engaged in the research of nuts like macadamia, walnut and pecan. The purpose is to give full play to the comprehensive advantages of multidisciplinary fields and promote the technological progress of Yunnan nut industry.

The Specialist Committee appointed Mr. Zhu Youyong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, chairman of Yunnan Association of Science and Technology, Mr. Li Xuelin, president of Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Mr. Wang Weibin, president of Yunnan Academy of Forestry Sciences as honorary directors, and Mr. Lu Bin, researcher of Yunnan Academy of Forestry Sciences as the director. The Specialist Committee consists of 79 experts from organizations and institutions like Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, Southern Cross University of Australia, China Forest Academy of Sciences, China Agricultural University, Nanjing Forestry University, Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Yunnan Academy of Forestry, Yunnan Institute of Tropical Crops, Yunnan Agricultural University and Southwest Forestry University, etc.

Approved by Yunnan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs and formally established in September 2014. Yunnan Nuts Society (hereinafter referred to as YNS) is a professional and non-profit social group composed of enterprises, experts, scholars and growers specializing in nursery, cultivation, production, processing and marketing of nuts in Yunnan Province. Through continuous input, the number of members has increased from the first 33 to the present 159.
