The main provinces in South Africa where macadamias are grown are KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo and Mpumalanga. The macadamias in Limpopo are mainly grown in Levúb and Tzanen, and the macadamias in Mpumalanga are mainly grown in Hazyview, Barberton, and also in the Eastern Cape. In 2019, South Africa added 5,962 hectares of macadamia acreage. KwaZulu-Natal has maintained the largest annual growth for two consecutive years, followed by Mpumalanga and then Limpopo.
